Day 1 - 12 in Korea (1 September - 13 September)

DAY 1(2 September 2015)
FINALLY WE FINISHED OUR EXAMS!!!
Our papers end on 1 September 2.30pm and we had to rush our way back home to do our last minute packup and check our luggage etc.
After all the hassle, we went to the airport straight to have a last photo with our friends and family before heading into the plane.

It was a 6 hours flight to Incheon, Seoul. During the plane flight we were served some food to eat and i wouldn't say it's nice but its edible. LOL

When we alighted the plane, it was 6.20AM and we had to wait for the pickup van which will arrive at 7.30AM hence we went to the get T-WIFI 4G sim card(unlimited data plan with free incoming calls and messages) as all of us does not have a usable sim card, we decided to share one to use the data. The price was 44,000 Won(SGD$52.13) for 30days. Since we are staying til 31 December, we went to get the sim card for 120days which is 176,000 Won(SGD$208.52).

After settling our phones, it was already 7.30AM and we were searching for the pickup van but no one was to be found. At about 8.20AM we realized that there won't be any pickup van to our school so we had to go to Dankook University ourselves. We took bus 8100 which cost about 12,000 Won(SGD$14.22) to our school.

The bus ride to Dankook university was about 2hours and someone decided to have a snack in the bus (orhor singapore cannot eat in bus leh korea can meh?!)

After a long bus ride we finally reached somewhere near Dankook university. Since we have yet to eat our breakfast, we went to the nearest store to eat which is the MacDonalds! The food menu is different from Singapore's menu and since its our first time ordering food, we had a hard time to order food >.<

After filling our stomach with delicious Korea MacDonalds we went to met Mr. Yoo SungDong, our korean international officer from Dankook. He was a very nice guy and even apologized to us because he is unable to get the pickup van to fetch us from the airport. Then we board his van and headed up the hill to our school.

We finally reached our Dormitary (Woongbi Hall) and quickly settled in with our new roommates from China, Mongolia and Singapore. YES SINGAPORE. We found another OSEP student from SBM and we were lucky to have met him here.

Next up we went exploring our school (International hall) which held all our lessons for the next 4 months.

One of the lecture hall... The seats is way better than NYP's lecture theatre really.. HAHAHA

Guess what! They have vending machines too!

A rough estimation of price in korea. One can of PEPSI cost about 600 Won (SGD$0.71).

One of the Tutorial/Group Project room for IBA Major students.

They even had some nice cozy area for students to study/rest for lessons!!

Yes they do sell cup noodles as well!!

Some other services like printing machine is also available :)

Exploring finish, its about time to meet Mr SungDong to settle our Alien card registration fee for 30,000 Won (SGD$35.54) then we took some Korea level test and split into our different classes. Finishing our class we head off to meet our buddy and went to shop for pillow and other necessities.

Since we are just staying for about 4months, we decided to get a simple pillow and blanket. Feeling hungry, we followed our buddy to a korea BBQ house to eat some bbq meat! :D

We ate 7 person serving of meat for the 5 of us. The other side dishes are free flow! REALLY!! FREE FLOW! It was 40,000 Won (SGD$47.39) each person paid 8,000 Won (SGD$9.48) for a very filling meal. It was nice having our stomach full and we went back to our dormitory. At night me and David felt a little hungry and craved for some food to snack on. We then decided to head for Mom's Touch (Korean Fast Food Restaurant) to have a little supper. This delicious Cheese Popcorn ball cost 2,500 Won (SGD$2.96).

DAY 2(3 September 2015)

Second day was a tiring day. We had a long day before and have to get up early for lessons. David had lessons from about 2pm to 5pm. Shaun and i didnt not have any lessons hence both of us went to eat Brunch at Mom's Touch (Korean Fast Food restaurant).

After eating me and Shaun head back to our Dormitory to sleep while David finish up his lessons.
At about 5.30PM we decided to invite our NYP SBM friend Kin Seng to join us for dinner at Itaewon. Arrived at Itaewon we are amazed by the beautiful streets they have.

At first, we were aiming to shop for clothes but in the end we arrived too late and most of the stores closes at 9PM. We then head to hunt for food and found a Korean BBQ restaurant.

Since we had a early brunch, we ordered a bowl of soup and Tonnes of meat. Yes TONNES! They had great service. There will be a person cooking and serving you the food. It cost about 60,000 Won(SGD$71.09) each person paid about 15,000 Won (SGD$17.77). After which we head back to meet one of our friend who is currently living in korea. She brought us around to explore and also brought us to a cafe to drink some drinks. After that we head back to our dormitory.

DAY 3(4 September 2015)
In the morning me and Kin Seng woke up early to meet my(Lyon) buddy Da Eun to have lunch. Yes, in Dankook if you are lucky you will be paired with a girl buddy :D My girl buddy is so pretty! hahahaha! When we all met up, my buddy brought us to a Korean Restaurant which sells Jjimdak. Jjimdak is a some what like a korean stew sorta thing. We ordered a 3 person serving and it was huge!

At first we were left with quite a lot of leftovers but we were told that koreans try their best not to waste food hence we had to squeeze everything into our stomach. It was a nice and full lunch.
After lunch we head back to our Dormitory while my buddy left for her lesson.

Da Eun(My buddy), her friend, me(Lyon)

After meeting up with our buddy we went to find another friend of ours at itaewon and she brought us around to shop around but in the end we did not get anything :x and we end our day here...

DAY 4(5 September 2015)

Kin Seng's friends who were also overseas students studying in Dankook University invited us to experience Jimjibang, which is a Korean Traditional Sauna. The place was essentially multiple swimming pools located underground (most of the time I think) where each pool had water which was either cool, warm, REALLY HOT or REALLY COLD. Apparently, going into the different pools will help to make your skin brighter and also help you lose weight, just by sitting in water. The Jimjibang was also a very popular place for Koreans to spend the night but we headed back to the dorm instead (School Rules T.T).

hehehe me in sheep head towel HAHAHA
next up is the place where people can sleep overnight

i swear their sauna is damn awesome! theres different rooms too!

DAY 6(7 September 2015) - DAY 10(11 September 2015)

The week started again and we went for lesson. Since our schedule is quite hectic we had little chance to go out. On our free time we occasionally went to itaewon to have dinner and shop abit though :D

One of our friend's birthday falls on this week. So.... we decided to surprise her with a nice ice cream cake and went for our dinner.

The birthday girl got her seaweed soup! A tradition in Korea to drink this soup on someone's birthday! hehehe the shop owner was really kind too! She helped us surprise her and played the birthday song through the shop's speaker. The cashier even gave her a packet of biscuits ;) its a guy cashier by the way HAHAHAHA
